This documentary film looks at the steelband in the role of symphony orchestra, explores the global spread of the steelband movement and the acceptance of the steelpan as a legitimate musical instrument. The film is driven by the viewpoints of Ray Holman, Anne Fridal, Desmond Waithe, Junior Pouchet, Dr. Jeannine Remy, Edward Cumberbatch, Anthony Williams, Merle Albino de Coteau, Pelham Goddard, Dr. Kim Johnson, Liam Teague, Patrick Arnold and the late Dr. Pat Bishop.
There is a second screening on Sunday 2nd October at 11am at the same venue. Tickets are $25.
