Pan Explosion is a musical competition exclusively for steelbands. It is an innovative showcase for arrangers to have their compositions performed by ensembles of up to six musicians. This unique event encourages young musicians to compose and arrange new music written specifically for the steel pan that is judged by an expert panel. The whole process takes a significant amount of planning and hard work by those participating and is one of the few events on the calendar that nurtures talent.
