Despite all the best efforts to make the highly promoted International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) a gala affair, it was unfortunately laden with missteps and misspeaks from the very beginning of the event.

The International Soca Awards hosted by US-based iSA organisation, SAO Soca Awards Ltd/Soca Awards organisation Inc, and supported by Trinidad and Tobago's Ministry of Arts and Multiculturalism, was a comedy of errors that was only saved by Master of Ceremonies and comedian, Tommy Joseph, who had the crowd in stitches every time he took the stage.

It appeared that producer and CEO Colin Jackman, known as CJ in the calypso world, did not have a clue as to what it takes to put together a truly international show as very little planning went into the project.

Things pretty much were made up as the show went along as it was clear that there was no rehearsal, no script, no programme, no stage manager, no sound engineer, no video clips and missing awardees on the night of the show.
