45.2 million in 7 years while you get $42.86 per year
So let us talk of our interests. This pie in the sky billion-dollar industry. We missed the bus a long time ago with the steel pan industry on the world market because of the same type of self-serving leaders. Attempts are being made to reclaim the industry but with all these allegations over the heads of our executive, and their insistence on not stepping down, it is at a stalemate.
Our biggest interest earner is Panorama. According Mark Bassant’s The Unsound Note: Part 3 of 4 - A TV6 News Investigation
our profits from Panorama in 2009 was 5.2 million;
2010, 6.4 million
2011, 3.7million
2012, 4.7 million
2013, 9.1 million
2014, 7.6 million
2015, 8.5 million
coming to a grand total of $45,200.000.00.
They talk about protecting your interests. Now think. Who benefited from this profit? How much of this profit went back to your band? How many PAN IN THE COUNTRYSIDE gigs did your band perform for? How much money did your band receive for this show?
Based on what my band has been paid, it is an average of $7,000.00 each performance, if so much. Out of that, we paid $3,000.00 in transport and $1,000.00 for refreshments. So our profit was $3,000.00. Let us assume you got two PAN IN THE COUNTRYSIDE gigs in seven years. Your actual profit would be $6,000.00. (out of 45.2 million). Now divide that 6,000.00 among twenty players. Each player earns $300.00 in seven years. Which is actually $42.86 a year. Now let us compare that $42.86 payment against the president’s alleged $80,000.00 honorarium for 2016, or his under $30,000.00 salary a month according to his faithful trustee who signs his cheque every month. So what? Is his salary $29,999.99? That is under $30,000.00. Compare the same $42.86 to the financial advisor’s alleged $150,000.00 every three months, or compare it to the alleged $15,000.00 a month the car rental company receives for executive officers who are already getting $5,000.00 travelling allowance a month and the list goes on. Is this the interest we, the African man, must PROCTECT WITH OUR LIVES?

10 years ago, Boogsie Sharpe gave the RIGHT PROPOSAL at a NATIONAL AWARDS CEREMONY. And, today, the existing state of affairs, then, is the existing state of affairs now and it will continue to be the existing state of affairs ten years from now.

Still on answer from Pan Trinbago on these figures. However, we have something coming from TOBAGO the boat aint working so it coming slow. LOL. Them fellas grow suckers and deep root inside there. We have thing for that. lol. Thank you Tobago, you have always been known to stand for what is right. Trinidad needs to take the integrity page from your book.
Aquil: For almost a decade now (slight overstatement) I have been hearing that SOMEBODY from TOBAGO or SOUTH or NORTH or EAST or WEST or EXPAT LAND "have ting" to TAKE DOWN KEITH DIAZ!!!
But I have said for years and I will continue to say: KEITH DIAZ TIL 2020!!!
Words are powerful, e.g. "and the lord SAID let there be light" we know the rest. We must say what we want so the universe could give it to us. So is either we saying we want them out now, or we want them till 2020. I know what I want and no mix message come from me. I want them out now. The universe start to work already. You feeling it Mr. Claude? God time is the best time. It will happen.
Taking in down Keith Diaz is least of our worries, what will be our greatest challenge is trying to build up an organization with what seems to be a broken system; broken bank account; broken values; broken trust in the privet and public sector and most of all broken band leaders from years of abuse. Pray for us WST, this shit is real.
It will be very easy to straighten out PAN TRINBAGO and cure all the ills cited in your last paragraph!!! But finding the right leadership will continue to be the problem. What is required to move PAN TRINBAGO -- into today's world -- is not within the skill set of the people you have lined up to take control of the organization even if KEITH DIAZ steps down. 10 years ago the conversation on this forum was the INCOMPETENCE and CORRUPTION in PAN TRINBAGO; 10 years from now the conversation will still be the same!!! KEITH DIAZ will be long gone and half the OLD TIMER EXPATS on this forum will be long gone but PAN TRINBAGO will still be there with the SAME WOES. The culture (political and social) does not demand PRODUCTIVE and PROGRESSIVE leadership. Aquil: You need to take a step back and RETHINK this whole (mis)adventure!!!
Mr. Aquil, I am NOT, an educated man, but I'm an 'INTELLIGENT" individual, and word's are expressions of taught is it not ??? then tell me this, when they, said "and the LORD SAID let their be light and their was light", whom was he/the LORD speaking to, and who heard him say it ??? now remember, no one else was here but the LORD, but he was speaking to someone else, when he said what they say he said, and where did they or whom ever came from??? again, remember he the LORD was the ONLY ONE HERE, just a question, no offense meant and none intended, U see I studied "PHILOSOPHY", and I was advised to ask questions, as part of the curriculum, so I am still asking...
I love the discussion and no offence taken. Fair analysis and good question. I don't know the answer, however, the question may strengthen my theory. If there was no one there to hear it, then why was it necessary for him to SPEAK IT into existence. Could it be that he understand the power of the word? I am not a believer in religion, God yes, religion no, but I have experienced the power of the word on too many occasions to not believe that the powers of the universe are real. Positive people attract positive energy; negative people attract negative energy. Let us make this analogy relevant to Pan Trinbago. Pan Trinbago keeps attracting negative people to the executive and if they do get positive people there, they do not last long. This is seven going onto eight years that the executive can't keep 10 executive members together. Unfortunately, the negative people out number the positive ones. I rest for now.
PS Education Officer was just a title. I am not smarter or more dunce that anyone. Some of us are just more exposed to information than others.
