This documentary film looks at the steelband in the role of symphony orchestra, and explores the global spread of the steelband movement and the acceptance of the steelpan as a legitimate musical instrument. The film is driven by the viewpoints of Ray Holman, Anne Fridal, Desmond Waithe, Junior Pouchet, Dr. Jeannine Remy, Edward Cumberbatch, Anthony Williams, Merle Albino de Coteau, Pelham Goddard, Dr. Kim Johnson, Liam Teague, Patrick Arnold and the late Dr. Pat Bishop.

Tickets are $25.

  • Please be advised that the second screening has been rescheduled to Friday 30th September at noon, and relocated to The Little Carib Theatre. The first screening at Movie Towne on Saturday was very warmly received.
  • Would have liked to get the viewpoint of Dr. Dawn Batson of FMU.
    • That was my intention as well, but budgetary constraints prevented me from getting to Florida. I communicated with her before we started shooting and she had agreed to do the interview, but things just didn't work out.
