Colin Kaepernick and the CIP and  an apology to Beverly Ramsey-Moore and the New Visionaries.

By Aquil Arrindell

Not everyone understands, appreciates and values someone who puts all on the line for the rights of others. Look at how much this American hero, Colin Kapernick had to endure before his brothers stood up for, or to be more literal, knelt in support of his cause. We all know why; we all know the events leading up to his action and we are all aware that he personally lost from his action. We can also assume that he knew he would suffer his faith, nevertheless, decided he would stand the consequences in order to help Black Americans be treated equally in the land of the free and brave.

In the pan movement, those who are really involved know that victimisation from the executive is a real thing. It is so bad, that in a Father’s Day concert in Kalamo Kings pan yard, the president was brave enough the to tell San City’s treasurer, if Aquil stays as Captain, “nothing of allyuh”. Know his statement is not surprising because this is practiced in Pan Trinbago. So much so, that the first bandleader that was approached, two months ago, refused to sign the petition in fear of victimization. This band has been in the president’s dog house for years, because the band had a relationship with another set of our unsung heroes, the New Visionaries. The New Visionaries has been warning us for the past seven years, that this president’s actions, will sink this organization into a hole that not even Jesus could bring us back out of. But we did not listen. Mrs Ramsey-Moore came to meeting after meeting warning us, and for that, she was bullied and shamed on numerous occasions by the president and at one time was forced to tears. We the CIP members are sorry that we allowed and supported the president’s acts of aggression towards you, whilst all that you were warning us about has now come to pass. We do sincerely apologise and I hope other band leaders would have the decency to do the same. Mrs Ramsey-Moore, you are a hero. I digress.

Though we all pay the same percentage dues, it amounts to nothing if we are not in the president’s ‘good book’.  The Concern Individuals for Pan (CIP) is a group of band leaders who have put themselves on the line. Knowing that the executive would not extend equal treatment to their bands, they still decide to stand for the rights of firstly, the players and now, the rights of bandleaders. What does this group, the CIP, have to gain? They probably want to take over so they can thief too? Some one of them wants to be president? They must be hoping to feel the cool breeze of the air-condition in the X5 that the president fraudulently brought into the country, that brought our organization into public disrepute.

Firstly, whosoever takes over Pan Trinbago will have 30 million dollars in debt to pay back, so what money is there to thief? Secondly, no member of the CIP has expressed the willingness to be president. Lastly, the reports are the X5 and the president are currently under investigation, and it is more than likely that no one will feel the X5’s cool breeze. So what does the CIP want? We want good governance, where all members can benefit from our organization and not just the executive. We would like to see ten of the most competent people in the pan movement hold office. However, those ten don’t necessarily have to be among any of us at the CIP. We the members of the CIP are sacrificing our time, money, our bands’ opportunities (from not being in the president ‘good books’) etc., just to ensure that the members of our body be treated with respect by those who were put there to serve us.

The question is, like Colin Kaepernick, how much more would the CIP members have to endure, whilst fighting for your rights and without expecting any personal gains, before all  pan people stand with them in the struggle towards an organization that puts its members first.

Come to the meeting on Thursday 30th Nov. (tomorrow) and let us put our house in order. The nation and world are watching. Stand with the CIP. Let us show everyone, we the band leads are not in support of this self-serving executive and we have lost confidence in them all.

    • it don't make a difference what size it is pal. you in it alone do make you happy. this house just a lil smaller than mine. just a choonkie bit smaller. lol.

  • Mr. Claude. Probably after tomorrow I could go and plant peas in Tobago. And mis More and will live happily ever after.
    • Aquil:

Ah like how you and Gregory does RESPON(D)

      Not acting like a MORON

      Cussing me for my OPINION

      • no need for that bro. lol CIP say is ONLY love in the house.

  • The nation is not watching!!! The world is not watching!!! Just a few EXPATS around the world and a few LOCALS (not more than 10). So don't expect to see all the bandleaders show up tomorrow and say they are responding to your plea on WST.

Mrs. Ramsey-Moore is NOT A HERO. She thought that she saw an easy political opportunity to snatch power from KEITH DIAZ and she jumped on it with very little calculation. That picture of her on the courthouse steps celebrating as if she had won already painted A THOUSAND WORDS. Beverley never had a chance!!! It was easy to predict that she would end up back in Tobago planting PIGEON PEAS.

If I could find a reliable BOAT to FLOAT from PORT OF SPAIN to SCARBOROUGH -- I would put all the CIPPERS on that boat and send them to PLANT CASSAVA. Because Tobago have THE BEST CASSAVA in the world -- and that is a first hand report.

But ah doh want meh two best pardners on the forum (Gregory and Aquil) to get stranded on a boat on the HIGH SEAS and then the boat start to leak and sink and both ah dem drown.

On the other hand, after tomorrow I have NO IDEA what the CIP is going to do with their time -- clearly rejected by the BANDLEADERS in their bid to UNSEAT the GREATEST POLITICIAN IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD.

And once again I would ask: If when KEITH DIAZ took office in 2009, I (me -- living so far away and knowing so little about the ON THE GROUND TRINIDAD) knew that he was a CROOK and that he had a history of bankrupting organizations and that he was sure to bankrupt PAN TRINBAGO -- how come all the WANNABE Pan Trinbago Presidents did not know that?

And how come NOBODY listened to Beverley when she was screaming FOR THE NATION TO HEAR?

Time for the CIP to take their LICKS and MOVE ON!!!
