Steelband Music Panorama Order of Appearance Trinidad and Tobago - 2011 Semi Finals


St. Margaret’s Superstars and Katzenjammers Steel Orchestras scored the most points in their respective categories in the National Panorama Small and Medium Conventional Steel Orchestra Preliminaries.


St. Margaret’s Superstars, the Junior Panorama winner 2009, now competing in the ‘senior panorama’ –  appeared at position eleven, playing “Calling Meh” arranged by Shenelle Abraham.  For their effort, they amassed 271 points.


In the Medium Band category, Katzenjammers of Tobago placed first with a total of 252 points. Their tune of choice was Edwin Pouchet’s arrangement of “Wake Up”.  (click for full results).


The qualifying round which was held over a period of four days in the Tobago, North, South/Central and East regions of Trinidad and Tobago - saw a total of 87 steel bands vying for places in the semi final round. While the sixteen Large Bands were not adjudicated, they played their Panorama piece and were subjected to the band count (number of performing musicians).


At the end of the Preliminaries, forty-four bands will proceed to the National Panorama Semi Finals aka “Savannah Party” on Sunday 20th February 2011 at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain,
beginning 9:00 a.m.

  • Will there be any live coverage of the Semi Finals?
    • Haven't heard anything, but I set my t.v. to local channel 4 here, record for hours, and hope for the best. Sometimes I'm right.
