Ah hear AQUIL ARRINDELL is ah BIG ARRANGER. So if we could find ah man in Trinidad to present the idea lyrically in the CALYPSO IDIOM and Aquil could arrange the song and we could get ah GOOD VOCALIST -- we could be in the MIX come CARNIVAL 2019!!!
Ah love CALYPSO too bad!!! But if ah never hear another PAN in meh life again, I could live with that!!!

Thanks for the complements but my postings and replies are no way in the class of MTTB, Aquil, Cecil, Bugs, Brenda, Ingrid and many others that are too much to mention, Whenever something pops up in mind which are few and far between i just post it thats all. On a more serious note according to Aquil i believe the Pan Players, Steelbands and the Ministry of culture will see to it that there will be Panorama 2019 weather the Bands and Players are paid or not because Panorama is the be it all for Bands and players in the Mecca of Pan for Steelbands and players. On Calypso Ingrid said the Calypso Revue was shut down went she called to find out what shows were going on over the Carnival period, Was it one day before Carnival when they were closed for Calypso Monarch or several days or weeks before carnival when they should be open still or was it a case of low tickets sales and small turn outs. Elections are right around the corner but who will be running Panorama, Will it be Pantrinbago with the same old guards or Pantrinbago with new faces?

When I arrived in Trinidad this year, I called Calypso Revue on Tuesday, 30 January as I usually prepare my itinerary on arrival. There was something in the papers about low attendance and the possibility of having to close the Calypso Revue but I didn't believe it and called for myself and was told that the Revue was closed for the Carnival season. Not sure if it has since reopened, but to say I was surprised is an understatement!
Thank you for the information Ingrid, I am sure that a lot of members were unaware of the situation with the Calypso tents in T&T, Pan in danger is Calypso going down the same road. Thanks again for your contributions on this forum.

But like yuh doh read THIS FORUM? PAN MEN will NEVER STRIKE and LET DOWN THE PARTY.
At the end of the CARNIVAL, Doctor Dolly needs to be able to come out and say: WE HAD A SUCCESSFUL CARNIVAL. And she cannot make that statement WITHOUT PANORAMA. (But like she does get reports on THE FORUM because this year she send COLIN LUCAS to make the "SUCCESSFUL CARNIVAL" statement.
If THE CIP would hire me as a POLITICAL CONSULTANT they will be better positioned to deal with SHEPPARD and FORTEAU and DOCTOR DOLLY. Lord, ah does always forget that THE CIP is NOT INTO POLITICS!!!
Claude: I'm glad you mentioned Doctor Dolly and her "We Had A Successful Carnival" statement. What do you think "A Successful Carnival" should mean? More tourists visiting the country; less crime over the Carnival period; higher attendance at the various Carnival Events; pan men being paid for their efforts? Because from my point of view, there is nothing "successful" if one (or two) elements are not paid their dues. I will give you an example of a total shambles over the Carnival period this year. When I reached Trinidad, I called Calypso Revue to find out what shows were going on over the Carnival period. The place shut down for Carnival. Successful Carnival - stop yanking my chain!!
