Fix Pan History

Pan family, Is it possible to fix Pan history?

In 1965 Panorama, they said that the results was

(1) Cavalier, Melody Mas,                                                                                                                            (2) North Stars, Hold on to your man                                                                                                          (3) Westside Symphony, Steering Wheel

It was not so, Westside played "Hold on to your man" not Steering wheel, both north stars and westside played the same tune, I remembered we (westside) were practicing the tune for panorama and "Rock" put in a change part with a "slow phrasing" in the tune. I cannot remember if we place in the finals, I think we place with "Steering Wheel" on the road, I need some Westside people to help me on this, Come on West side Symphony (bwia sunjets) people help me with this.

  • I wish some of these Westside members could have joined this forum, some are ill, passed away or not computer oriented. LANCE (the auger) on double tenor, has passed bless his soul, MAC on chello (i dont know his whereabouts)  FRANCIS on echophone, (I dont know his whereabouts) FOODY on chello (heard he is sick) HAMLIN on bass (he is in NY, busy) BITTERS on tenor, enjoying retirement, DAVID ZEPHRINE on second (in DC playing out regular), MIKEY KING on second (he is sick) ARTHUR BLENMAN (screech) on tenor,(in t'dad), JEFFERS on tenor (in t'dad) LESLIE JORDAN (even tho he was not a westside member in 1965) (in t'dad) ORLANDOSTEVE the mas man, and yours truly on ECHOPHONE. All these people and many others that I did not name can attest to the info bout HOLD ON TO YUR MAN

    • I think Hamlin was a postman,Arthur, my goodfriend, was from rossland

Refill is Fill thats our Tumba man Pessy family. I know you and your Family very well not boasting but I knew almost every top pan man in in the west during the sixty's I use to go to all the panyards in the West from Invaders to Blue Stars, Some of the top pan players in Invaders and Starlift mostly Starlift was from St James. They had a large Women following so a lot of guys went to Woodbrook. • This is what am talking bout BUGS, he never played in Westside 1965 (which he admitted) and beating around the bush, now he have to ask some of his friends the truth bout the tune (i hope his friends remember the SLOW PART that ROCK put in the last minute)

        • I never said i played with westside we were too busy touring and getting into classical

music and mentoring westside players how to play pan and not to beat pan.
