When Steel Talks extends our condolences to the family and friends of Kenneth Hood.

Our deepest sympathies to the family, friends and residents of River Road on the passing of Kenneth "Teloti" Hood who passed away on Saturday November 21, 2015.
Teloti founded the River Road Pan Wizards Steelband in 1988. Prior to this Hood was associated with City Symphony Steel Orchestra, where as an arranger, he dominated the local panorama competitions.
May His Soul Rest In Peace.

  • WST,  I wish to extend my condolences to the Hood family.  TELOTI, a Windward Islands Cricketer,  was a friend of mine.  In fact, I played with his brother GAGA for HEINEKEN BANDITS in 1965 when we beat him into second place at the Grenada panorama. His band in those days was called COCA COLA WAYSIDE SYMPHONY.  The point I am trying to make is that TILOTI was involved in steelband music much earlier than they are giving him credit for.  We need historians; we need  archives so we can fill these gaps and the public can learn about the early days of steelband in Grenada..                            RIP Mr Kenneth Teolti Hood.

  • My deepest condolences to the family and all panists on the death of one of the greatest panists Grenada has produced. Got to know him when he was associated with Guinness Symphony Steel Oechestra and we've been great friends ever since. I could guarantee that if I had one listener to my pan programme it was Kenneth Hood. And he'd always call me to say something about the music, be it his likes, dislikes or to offer a suggestion. I remember him challenging me when I once said no bad had ever won three panorama titles in a row. He said he did it albeit three out of four years. The fourth year the band was on tour of Europe, I think it was. He was part of the panel discussing the history of pan in Grenada and the way forward during the 50th anniversary celebration of Republic Bank Angel Harps. May his soul for ever REST IN PEACE, AMEN
