Reigning National Panorama champions Desperadoes Steel Orchestra will be participating in the parade.
Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - Fifteen iron men (steelband percussionists) will today receive awards in appreciation for their respective contributions to the steelband movement.
Among the recipients is Pan Trinbago president Keith Diaz. The awards will be presented during the Pan on D’Avenue V steelband parade.
The event is being presented by the Woodbrook/St James Community Association and will see steelbands, masqueraders and other musical amalgamations parading between Taylor and Colville streets from 6.30 p.m. to 2 a.m.
The annual event is presented in celebration of the anniversary of the nation’s Independence and also in recognition of the national instrument, the pan.
