I've noticed that several pieces have a similar two or three note figure in the melody at the beginning of the chorus - for example My Pussin, Queen of the Bands and Plenty Lovin, and is similar to the chorus of Yellow Bird and Sly Mongoose. Can anyone else suggest other examples of this semitone drop/rise idea, and does anyone know where it came from? Thanks!
