C.I.P.’s constituttional rights PART #3

Pan Trinbago allegedly spent a quarter million in legal fees and may face more as C.I.P’s constitutional rights breached.

by Aquil Arrindell

This is the clause in the constitution we are using as a tool the get answers.

Having regard to the Constitution of Pan Trinbago, Article 7 – Structure, Part A: GENERAL Body:

Meetings of the General Body (IV)

(IV) Extraordinary General Meeting

(b): Without prejudice to the foregoing, an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Association shall be called by the President of the Central Executive Committee within fourteen (14) days after delivery to the Secretary of the Association of a requisition for the same signed by not less than 60% of the Financial membership of the General Body and stating the nature of the business to be discussed.

This is a provision in the constitution. Therefore, it is our constitutional right to take the action we have and the motion passed at the south central meeting is an infringement on those same rights. Again, the high handed approach of executive members to use our South Central brothers and sisters in their dirty politics is a little lower than disgusting. However, they live up to expectations.

South Central’s motion stated that they are in full support of the the central executive members and they distance themselves from the CIP and any other groups who are in the act of destabilizing the organization. THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DO because the CENTRAL EXECUTIVE’s members, who they pledge support to, are the only group of people that have caused major damage to the organization’s image and at the same time have destabilized pan Trinbago in a short period of time.

Ask yourself, is the CIP responsible of any of these:

Questioning executive members’ credibility (a to z).

  1. A total failure regarding the running of 2017 National Panorama.
  2. The government’s loss of confidence in Pan Trinbago due to alleged corruption among members of the executive which negatively impacted the government’s decision to entrust state funds to the organization.
  3. The thirty-million-dollar financial hole the organization has to dig itself out of under leadership of this president and all who stay, condone and contribute to the alleged corruption and mismanagement.
  4. Due to the numerous lies that have been told to the membership, we now have a mistrustful membership lacking confidence in the executives’ ability to be truthful.
  5. Breaking the contract for 2016 National Panorama, which was signed by bandleaders, stating that players would be paid $300.00 for the semifinal round of the 2016 Panorama competition.
  6. The president allegedly paid himself an $80,000.00 honorarium.
  7. Unaccounted for vehicles (an Audi and an x5). The membership has no knowledge of their whereabouts.
  8. The alleged attempt to defraud the government by the president using his residence as the address for his friend to bring in a vehicle (supposedly for Pan Trinbago’s use) with Pan Trinbago’s money. His friend posing as a returning resident to avoided taxes. The same taxes which Pan Trinbago depends on for subvention every Carnival. This makes the President of Pan Trinbago an accomplice to a criminal act against the state of Trinidad and Tobago.
  9. Cars that are being rented for officers, although the organization pays an allowance of $5,000.00 and up for traveling per month, according to their elected position.
  10. Neglecting their responsibilities toward pan players and the disrespect shown by offering $500.00 to them whilst the bands’ prize monies remain the same.
  11. Allegations by an executive member that the president, the president’s advisors and a senior staff member were involved in a ticket racket with scalpers.
  12. The secret contract with the financial advisor without authorization from the board.
  13. The disrespect shown to the membership when a mandate was given. This was ignored by the executive with the view that the executive is in charge and the membership should just follow. “The tail doesn’t wag the dog” (the membership being the tail). The words of someone who was elected to serve said membership.
  14. Broken promises and the inability to pay bands outstanding monies for shows

i.e. (International Panorama) etc.

  1. Trips to foreign countries that bore no fruit and lack of reports coming from said trips. This would include the trip to New York where a current executive member is alleged to have swindled Pan Trinbago of money by claiming travel expenses which were already paid for by the financial advisor.
  2. Payment of honorariums without their being ratified by the board as to how much and if the organization could afford the expense.
  3. The financial advisor allegedly received over 150,000.00 ever quarter (every three months).
  4. Alleged faked sickness in the attempt to avoid questions and responsibilities.
  5. Locking an elected executive officer out of an executive meeting.
  6. The loss of control of the collection of gate proceeds due to alleged corruption among executive officers.
  7. Empty grandstand for the semifinals and the ridiculous time the show ended.
  8. Their inability to pull off THE GREENS event, which has been one of the only events to create a profit for the organization.
  9. The inability to host Champs In Concert as NCC lost confidence in Pan Trinbago because of alleged corruption and mismanagement of 2016 Panorama money. This mismanagement forced NCC to foot the bill for 2016 judges, grounds crew, staff, Junior Panorama etc. All to ensure the 2017 Panorama competition came off.
  10. Claims from the President, Secretary, PRO, ERO, and one Trustee that the ex VP collected a large salary, allegedly did nothing and was inefficient as an events manager. If there is any truth to these accusations, then the fact that the President/CEO of Pan Trinbago allowed this to continue for seven years, (renewing his contract every year until he (the VP) resigned),  shows his poor leadership and managerial skills.
  11.  Continuous personal attacks on our line minister reaching as far as her education and intelligence.
  12. The fact that Pan Trinbago’s press releases are a continuous embarrassment to the organization and angers its membership with every sentence. It has been for quite some time an expression of personal opinion and a gross misrepresentation of how the membership truly feels.

  • Ok the president could come out from seclusion now and tell the people bands will roll down the drag and let the Steelband reign once more.

    • How much money will KEITH DIAZ make from this "bands rolling down the drag" suggestion?

      • They could make money from the bleachers and stands, as it is now they make no money off the prelims.

        • Let me rephrase my question: How much money can KEITH DIAZ put in "HIS POCKET" from your suggestion?

          • The 10% he collects from the contractor who assign the vendors on the Drag can add up. You never know.

Another thing, how about the money from the gate receipts, it could be sitting in an interest bearing account. Last year receipts amounted to over $10 Million, add the interest that could/would be made from the gate receipts in 2017. That could help pay off 2016 and some of 2017 payments to the players.

            • Yeah odw, he had to pay back "First Citizen Bank" the $3 million he borrowed, which leaves him with $7 million...

              • Mr Diaz don't have a degree in Finance, Commerce, Management so in my view whoever is putting him in charge of millions are the ones should be in jail.

                • I have explained that 1000 times before on this forum.

Yuh want to lock up ROWLEY and DOLLY?

      • Mi Amigo, I heard or it is alleged that Keith Diaz borrowed $3 million t t dollars from First Citizens Bank in T&T, using Pan Trinbago as collateral...

        • Steelbands voted for KEITH DIAZ to lead PAN TRINBAGO. A lot of people knew that KEITH DIAZ was going to go into office and steal MOST OF THE MONEY. The only people who DID NOT KNOW THAT was Bryon and Aquil and Rosemin and Kareem and a few EXPATS here and there.

Every year KEITH DIAZ borrows MILLIONS to be repaid with the money from NEXT YEAR. Once he stole the FIRST 3 MILLION he fell behind as has been trying to CATCH UP with loans ever since. Years ago when KD was 5 million in debt, I announced it over and over on this forum.

The CIP is so politically naive they really believe that "the government lost confidence in Pan Trinbago due to alleged corruption" -- WOW!!! How could anybody live their whole life in a country and be so blinded by PARTY LOYALTY that they could make such a disingenuous statement.

Time for the CIP to buy a coffin!!!
