Is there any logical reason why single pan bands should have equal voting rights, as, let's say, the Big 5 and other similarly-sized or conventional bands ? I mean no disrespect but I honestly don't think there are 100 foreigners who travel to Trinidad specifically to see the single pan bands. Quoting the legendary Mr. Nevile Jules - "we moved past that a long time ago".

Okay Mr. Byer

Let's take off the kid's gloves.

Why should Mr.Sheppard not be considered a viable candidate for the office of president of Pan Trinbago?

Do you know of any reason why Mrs. Beverley Ramsey Moore is not a better candidate for President than you?

Was the out going Pan Trinbago administration corrupt?

Should the NCC continue to control all Panorama financial matters?

  • I'd like to say that it is really great that Mr. Byer is taking the time to come onto the forum to answer the people's questions. Howvere i know that town people don't like south people at all. therefore it is quite evident that no matter what Mr. Byer and Mr. Sheppard says that it wont make a difference. The only reason that you all pretend to like Mr. Arrindell is because he always limeimg with those town fellas.

    • Everything go end up in a tie. The  President have the deciding vote.

  • REALITY CHECK here, we know how much chaos dey does have at Pan Trinbago meetings, de last time I checked their web site this was POSTED...

Pan Trinbago's Election of Officers and Triennial Convention are scheduled for Sunday October 28th at a venue to be announced.

Does anyone know where it will be held, no updates on the site???

    We jammin still 2017 Soca

  • "THE OTHER CANDIDATES" did not want to TAKE THE RISK and come to THE FORUM!!!! Mr. BYER made himself accessible and came on so we are ASKING HIM QUESTIONS.

BEVERLEY IS SCARED of ME so she has REFUSED to come on!!!

SHEPPARD is too busy RIGGING THE ELECTION to come to THIS FORUM. Plus, when you saw his PERFORMANCE on Sunday, he clearly has ZERO DIPLOMATIC SKILLS and comes across as TOO CRUDE for these MODERN TIMES.

KERON VALENTINE has so much MALICIOUS GOSSIP swirling around him -- it might be POLITICAL SUICIDE for him to come and expose him to THIS FORUM.

AMAR and DUPREY -- Well BLACK PEOPLE eh voting for them so they could PREACH PAUL dey CYAR win at all!!!

So if MR. BYER has the SKILLS to provide REASONABLE ANSWERS to the questions being asked -- maybe he can win the election (by default?).

    •  Cant argue with those sentiments, Claude. I wish Mr.Byer, Aquil and their team the best of luck. The delegates have already voted, they did before Sunday. I hope the next President of PanTrinbago will be the best candidate, and not necessarily the winner. Go figure.

  • Should the NCC continue to control all Panorama financial matters?

Some background will be helpful seeing that this will be a three year trial period.

Looks like they will have to increase ATTENDANCE at Panorama to make-up for short change.

If I recall correctly Gate receipts for 2017 was 10 million, 2018 they claim only 3 million. Am I correct?

The National Carnival Commission (NCC) is clamping down on Pan Trinbago’s handling of its Government subventions.

The NCC yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Pan Trinbago to take over the disbursement of funds for the organisation’s activities.

Speaking to Loop, NCC Chairman Winston Peters said the decision was prompted by the need for proper accountability.

“The NCC has decided to implement its mandate because when all this autonomous arrangement came into being with Pan Trinbago and the other entities there were certain guidelines that had to be followed and we have lost that and we are determined to take it back and make sure we bring  back some semblance of proper management in these interest groups,” he said.

Peters said NCC won’t be taking over any of Pan Trinbago’s business such as payment of monthly staff.

He said regarding payments to pannists, there is a need to do an assessment of the bands and a system is being put in place to do that.

“We are only responsible for giving a subvention to Pan Trinbago, TUCO, and the TTCBA and that is what we are doing and with that subvention there has to be accountability for it. We weren’t satisfied with the accountability that was given so we are putting more stringent systems in place,” he said.

The arrangement is expected to cover the next three years.

  • Anybody with questions for the other candidates? Why target Mr. Byer alone? Was the outgoing administration corrupt? Well, were all past and present exec members part of the corruption? Exactly why did some of them resign, really? Is it because some of 'em were not directly involved in the processes? Any there any candidates with skeletons in their closets? How about cocoa in the sun?
    Is vetting after vetting.
  • Bertel: I just want you to know -- and ah know that yuh living in TRINIDAD and yuh have ah thousands times better pulse than me for where the election is headed -- THAT BEVERLEY CANNOT WIN THIS ELECTION and THAT BEVERLEY WILL NOT WIN THIS ELECTION.

  • This is great! Team Pan speaks of Foreign relations with the Xpats, let's see how they reply to foreign questions. Mr Aquil, let's see how your president responds.
