  • Cecil I agree with your suggestion 100%. Time will tell.

However, is the $75.000 post for life? Just asking.

    • Anthony Joseph, I doubt that.

  • I don't see why anyone would want to run Pan Trinbago as it is today, they are in debt to the hilt and no doubt their affairs could be in serious trouble. why should anyone want to take on such a task? you'll have so much cleaning up to do that you won't have the time to implement your ideas.

Concerned Individuals for Pan have the option of putting together a new movement, it is my opinion that their time will be better spent doing this.

  • Morning Glory, to think that pan people can't do better is sad.

    • Cecil: Is time for you to STOP taking this PAN TING so seriously. Carve out your own little space where you might be able to make a contribution and see if you could leave a foot print for others to follow. But don't expect to see any change or progress coming from PAN TRINBAGO in this lifetime.

  • I just want to know,WHO are going to be the new supposed executives, of this new so called "Pan management group? Also how do we know that they can do the job,and that it would not be a much worse situation? And not just a GRAB,FOR THAT $75,000 post? Peace and Love.
  •   It is obvious that our genuine love and passion for  steelband music have left most with a fixed, idealistic/emotional view of the art form. This widely held feeling by most panheads clouds all rationial thinking about pan and a "steelband music industry". For example all this fuss about PanTrinbago; think people!  How exactly is a not-for-profit organization, totally dependent of public funds, supposed to impact the lives and incomes of Trinbago pan players?  Do we really understand what the requirements are in order to establish a viable steelbandf music industry?

Idealism is great but hard reality is exactly that.  Too much of this conversation is fueled by idealism.

  • Every Zone , North, South/Central, East and Tobago need to separate themselves from PanTrinbago and do their own thing . People come to hear the best bands in the land on Panorama Final night but no one will wait till 3am in the morning to hear any top ban be it All Stars , Phase ll or Despers. Transportation costs are going up every year and we must also remember that the Finance Minister said that Petrotrin is in a deeper financial hole than was visioned. Large bands were scrambling for players the last two weeks before the finals to make the 120 players compliment. The only Tobago large band fell through and so did former big gun Harmonies. It is time for new and fresh leaders . Milton Wire Austin and Fonclaire will have to make some changes to satisfy the players because this year omittion from the finals was very hurtful. South and four time Medium Champions Pan Elders have to make a decent because they have nothing else to prove. The Small bands are not happy playing in front empty stands . We could voice options here on this forum but it is up to the pan pan players to make a good decision for 2018.
  • The game changer is in the hands of the Big Bands.

  • For those who just tuned in I'll bring you up to speed, we have people asking the President of Pan Trinbago to give up his $75,000 a year job,  plus a car and other benefits. I just wanted you all to see how stupid that demand is.
