IT was a great night of excellent performances from the BIG 5 (ISF) concert from beginning to end. All bands were sharp and came to perform and produce a successful show and my overall winner of the concert was PAN and more PAN. Mr. Cecil Hinkson I listen keenly to all bands and could not hear your iron section, maybe the mikes did not pick them up or it was not needed for this type of show. Kudos to the BIG 5 for a splendid night of Pan Music.

Claude my friend the Iron is the heart, it keep the beat, I'm sure every band had one. As for the concert the BIG5 "represented" it was excellent, one can see that the organizers put their best foot forward and it paid off.

OUR SONG takes place in the PAN YARD. In JEAN and DINAH, after SPARROW spreads the news around -- all the CAVE MEN COME INTO TOWN to "DEAL" with JEAN and DINAH. In this song, once word spreads that the ARRANGER is looking for MORE IRON in the BAND -- Yuh should see how much IRON MEN line up in the PAN YARD!!!

Earl: The discussion on "IRON IN THE BAND" led me to an idea (a topic) for a CALYPSO. The story is about a female arranger who is preparing a STEELBAND for PANORAMA. Of course she has been reading this forum and she heard us arguing with Cecil about TOO MUCH IRON IN THE BAND. So she decides to do it our way and reduce the amount of IRON IN THE BAND. But as the CARNIVAL TEMPO picks up she finds that the BAND is not sounding HARD ENOUGH for PANORAMA without all the IRON. So she wakes up one morning and concludes that "SHE WANT MORE IRON IN THE BAND" -- the TITLE of the CALYPSO and the HOOK LINE.
We just need a WRITER and Aquil will do the MUSICAL COMPOSITION. And, of course, the right SINGER!!!
