The Evolution of the Steelpan & Pan in Art Exhibition

This is the best kept secret (no more) yesterday I visited The Museum of the City of Port of Spain Fort San Andres South Quay, Port of Spain. I was very impress of what this museum is doing to showcase the National Instrument. The exhibition seeks to present to the public the story of the development of our National Musical Instrument in a way that evokes a sense of pride for this achievement, as well as educates the public on an important part of our history.

The exhibition is designed in five (5) sections, carefully depicting the steelpan in its beginning to early stages with African drums and tamboo bamboo leading into the steelpan as we know it and the Advent of the G-Pan.

The exhibition also display works of art depicting the Pan theme, including paintings, jewelry and other craft work.
