I found a lot of the performances almost immediately after the show on YOUTUBE last night!!!! (Granted my time is 4 hours behind!)
I saw most of the performances "live" but I missed a few!!!
Karen Asche was the best song that I saw. But she internalizes her rendition of the song too much and fails to project her voice to the audience. If she could enunciate a little more clearly and think more about the audience than "singing" I think that she has the lyrics to win. Of course I have not heard the defending champion as yet and I missed a few of the songs referenced here by others. I have to go back and study the card some more.
LADY ADANA is a STANDOUT and I would be happy to see her WIN. Very Original Material!!!
I like the veteran "last badjohn of calypso" corn tree and Heather's song about the gymnastics team. I missed quite a few, but fromwhat Isaw these were my faves.
I didn't hear Lady Adana until last night. She sang, Social Media. She is my winner. Take her calypso, and play it in any english-speaking country, and they will be able to relate to it. Second place is Heather Mcintosh:, Ah taking Dick.
