It's not to say that she does not know that PAN TRINBAGO is a beehive of CORRUPTION because executive members have resigned and spilled their guts in the MEDIA. And she even promised to AUDIT the corruption -- but excuses abound!!!

Now the part about CRACK SHOT PAN MEN playing for multiple bands in the same competition might be news to THE MINISTER. Because I think that the COMPETITION CORRUPTION might just be a pet peeve on WST of mostly ONE (VERY INFORMED) MAN.  And whatever anybody tells me, I don't believe that more than 25 people IN TRINIDAD read this forum -- which as we know is the domain of a bunch of culturally alienated EXPATS trying to turn the clock back on time with rehashed memories or futile pipe dreams of bringing PAN BACK ON THE ROAD FOR CARNIVAL with people pushing the PANS just like the SIXTIES.

But let me get back to the main issue. EXPATS jumping up and going crazy -- dey getting dey PANORAMA and nothing else matters.  They doh care if ONE CRACK SHOT play for SIX DIFFERENT BANDS on the same stage in the SAME COMPETITION making the TRINIDAD  STEELBAND PANORAMA perhaps the MOST CORRUPT MUSIC COMPETITION IN THE WORLD. And they don't care how corrupt DIAZ and FORTEAU are as long as they could produce some excitement for them with a 2018 PANORAMA PRODUCTION.

And The Minister of Culture -- all she cares about is a SUCCESSFUL CARNIVAL!!!

What a country!!! What a people!!!

  • Executive tries to replace Diaz as commissioner on NCC board.
    By Aquil Arrindell
    Bacchanal in the country,
Dictator Diaz bawl like a cow
    Somebody try to replace he
    They want him out now
It is alleged that the executive met to discuss and appoint a representative of Pan Trinbago (a
commissioner) to the N.C.C. board. Against the backdrop that the N.C.C. act did not specifically
say that the president of the organisation must be the representative, Pan Trinbago’s executive
deliberated and voted for someone as is the custom. Based on reports, through the same
democratic process that the president insists the pan movement use to get him out, a vote was
taken and d Shepherd was the executive’s choice. In true dictatorship style, the president refused
to accept the decision of the executive. The president would now be on the N.C.C. board
representing himself and not the organization.
To the executive, the N.C.C. is the enemy, so strategically, using D shepherd in the N.C.C. is a
brilliant idea. Now, most of us in the pan movement know that if you are playing dolly house,
don’t invite D shepherd to even plait your dolly hair or your game will end up in chaos. Once d
shepherd gets into any organization he divides the executive, separates the leader from his key
soldiers and when successful, he then undermines the leader’s authority. All in an effort to
ascend to the top. The only problem is that people have been able to make him out as the
deceitful man he is early in the game and get rid of him. Even now, after two years in his three-
year term as an executive officer, the pan fraternity wants him out. Do your own investigation
on him and ask the bandleaders he has arranged for throughout the years. Ask why it was
dangerous to have him around their bands.
I digress. As I said at the AGM, the members have lost confidence in the president; the
government has lost confidence in the president; the public has lost confidence in the president
and the executive has lost confidence in the president. What can he do for the pan fraternity in
the next year other than draw an under $30,000.00 a month salary. Things are going south rapidly
my brothers and sisters. Let’s sign the petition and get this executive out now.
  • Claude, It seems that nothing you say is going to change the Trini mentality. Maybe this will remind you why so many Trinis are expats and the majority don't even look back on TNT. Within their new life of day to day living, it is hard enough without having to get involved with the homeland shenanigans.
You have to be on the ground there,,, like Aquil, Gregory, Dane, and the contributors to your posts... The atmosphere is very different when it comes to PAN. Walk around and hear ppl talk.. the words are Carnival, Mas and Pan. Also with religious ppl going about their day to day lives for their Master..
Everyone has a job to perform and the Minister is no different. There are many screwups happening on a second to second basis, it is mind boggling if they get anything straight.
So what is the big deal? A couple thousand pan players choosing to continue playing the instrument they love. Was there an advertisement for a job opening? Paying what? So, the reality is they playing for free... if they dont like it, don't play. Obviously, loving to play pan is so addictive that they can't help themselves,,,, nobody forced them to play. So the ripoff continues with the help of the government helping themselves of the free labor. And anyone else who can put their hand in the money pot to fatten their bank account and lifestyle can do so because the government too busy trying to hold on to their cash cow.

Long after you and I are gone, the country will continue to go on. Leave the people let them handle their corruption, even if they are on a downward slide into an abyss of destruction.

    • my when steel family , have no fear Aquil the optimist is here, the glass is not half empty my friends, it is half full. Everything happens for a reason and sometimes we don't understand it but thats OK because some things are beyond our comprehension.  The universe naturally balances of it self. good and evil, light and darkness, war and peace. God time is best and the hard the battle the sweeter the victory. Don't be frustrated just do the work and the results will come.

CIP say is only love in the house.

Mr. leave D Dr. alone. you trying to mess up my love life or what?

  • Claude, I feel your frustration.  I thought everything was going to be addressed at the rescheduled AGM on 30 November but now that Panorama has effectively been rubberstamped, I don't see the point in attending the rescheduled AGM.  What is that going to achieve?
