What kind of events would we like for those dates????

There are so many things that can be done, for example a music festival for the bands where there are no judges, no points; just great pan music. It can either be an outdoor function or an indoor event, but it's goal should be to showcase good music on the pan, which doesn't have to be calypso. Other events can be for individual pannists like playing with a string band at a valentines day dinner or particular steel bands can put on a concert in a park...in fact years ago, the panorama winners from Trinidad used to come here and do that...they were sponsored by the Daily News back then. For certain events, local newspapers should be contacted to see if they can send someone to cover the event...the potential is endless.
to the pan cafe GP have some of the dates but what i would like to see is the steel band movement come together and plan more events just like every year people look forward for labour day weeking panorama J'ouvert let have more things like that plan for the steel band so that people could look forward too every year let us take our destiny in our own hands so we dont have to wait on WIDACA to give us hand out there are enough schools that have pan program let's get them involve to keep the pan alive let's used some of those schools holiday to plan things with these school's also the parents will get more active because it's theire kid's that are involve to keep pan alive so that when labour day comes around we just fit in untill we have control of our destiny
I hear you man. Of course parents will get involved, just at this moment panorama seems to be the only focus that pan has.
In the UK it is just the same, there are so many opportunities for bands to play, we just need the people who are in charge to think a little outside the box, and do what is necessary.
Not every major show has to be a competition.
I think there should be more pan not less pan.
