Thanks you! Do good Phase II...I surely want all to win big !
Excellent listening to the live live-stream of PHASE II, coming from my home turf in Woodbrook, at Hamilton Street... I right there with you in the panyard, man!!!!
Lawdy, Lawdy..... I am soooooo homesick! This helps ease it a little bit. Still wish I was actually in the yard!
hey i think phase 11 will win.
This has made my day. Mike you should be proud.
Thanks to wst for this video...This music is social commentary not a jam we need to sing about more love and stop the fighting and killing the the nation in a mess with crime... lesson to the message the music... the music sweet this is a pray to nation...lets see what semis will bring on sunday.
Cecil, coming back to phase 2 though, i listened to them on the audio tracks, and there is plenty of music in there to compel the listener... boogsie is a boss, no question... i imagine the interpretation of "more love" is what calls for all that sweetness... but a good love relationship is not always all sweetness either... so i hope he can inject some more passion into the music, even though stalin's performance didn't project that aspect... by comparison with "shock attack", for example... anyway, i like how 2013 is shaping up... there is incredible depth in the quality... some of the medium and small bands are outstanding, e.g. power stars...

Cecil, i like ur analogy ... but it reminds me that after a certain age, some people only look sexy with *all* their clothes on! ... speaking of which ... sweet eustace may have a point that the phase 2 front line needs to sharpen up in the charisma department ... this is one of those subliminal things that might represent the margin of victory, with the advantage in favor of the bands with the more youthful and more charismatic frontlines... this reminds me of harmonites last year, which was very good playing "archbishop of pan", but i want to think that a lot of those guys in the band were the same guys playing back in '68 or '69 when they last won panorama... good for them, but charismatic they're no longer... no slur on them ... i expect i also am now a little long in the tooth... but also long on some great memories...
If you follow Boogsie music for the last 4 years you would notice not the fast pace runs all the bands still performing - Boogsie panorama music today is all that jazzalypso grove...if the judges don't buy it - it is music forever for the future...
Big Sidd all Boogsie gave you was underwear, Sunday you will get underwear and pants, for final night he will be coming ALL DRESSED.
Eustace, not just the slamming, when the tune finished, somebody hit an extra note. That means that there are skaters.
Where do all those people in the yard be when the band goes on the road?
the tune is unfinished Trinidad Allstars ex panplayer, James I know u are a Phase II fan, the tune is unfinished no intro and the audio version is so much better, I like what am hearing from bands so far this year, I am a bit concerned about the shortness of the piece though, not enough content, it is less than "NO Panorama" from 1980 when we entered with an unfinished piece, but then again the judges have more respect for Boogsie than they did then,I am also concerned about the slamming of pans the judges were on the side so they wouldn't hear the slammin but if the band makes it to sunday line up they will be in front of the band, and since the video was in front I hope he does something with the rthym positioning, it was not clear on the video
I enjoyed this arrangement, go Boogsie!! Stalin "More Love' is Hottttt!!!!
not impressed, I know Boogsie could do better than that.
I'm Sorry, but i'm not impressed, and i'm a big boogsie fan. Or maybe I need to hear it live?
one more thing chuckaree need to hear the rythym section more,
thankx chuckaree tell boogsie fatboy double tenor man say, good luck and tell the indian in front not to beat the pan touch it and only strike when his sticks is in the pan, and tell boogsie I say no star boy thing in the tenor section every body playing the same thing so they need to play with more uniformity, he has to do it this year, he better, it coming to come
The South/ Central commanding the Medium band category so far. The Large Conventional bands is next ! Ray Holman with Skiffle and the Professor with Fonclaire is creating tidal waves in San Fernando tonight. The crowds are large and the vibes real nice. The two south heavy hitters are back in full force.
Thanks Johann!!!! I miss it!
