"Well said, doh forget the musicality of 'Gades was pleasing to the ears.  Pan don't have to be "in competition" (per se) to shine.  Every artist made a sterling effort to perform to their best. "

Andre-Roger Dellevi replied to Claude Gonzales's discussion JJJ and everybody else: Why do you all think that there are no STEELBANDS touring different parts of the world today?
"Good idea.  Pan certainly needs to coalesce behind any movement to Do Something For Pan. It was back in Montreal at Expo 67 where T&T showcased  steelpan to the world as we helped Canada celebrate 100 years. …"

"Well said!  The public no longer views this as a curious and odd musical instrument, but it still blows the minds of the audience when a performance goes down.  In fact, the novelty has gained normalcy as it expands its acceptance. …"

I heard that 610 Radio Guardian came on with Yellow Bird, but we tuned in to Radio Trinidad 1. to listen to the tune and learn it and 2. My sister was a radio announcer with them back then and when I phoned her for info she actually hummed the tune and referred me to other people. Today 13th Oct. I went to the station and was referred to two people Winston Maynard and Edison Carr who were both able to confirm the song's name as CALL OF THE KISKIDEE and the composer was Umilta Mc Shine.

Lord Kitchener sang a calypso about the two stations playing their sign on tune. His chorus was....RADIO GUARDIAN,OUTA D BLUE... 610 IS CALLING YOU....AND IF YUH STILL LAY DOWN LIKE YUH DEAD....TRINIDAD GO PING PONG YOU OUT YOU BED ...then he did a mouth pan solo
