Apology

Word has reached me that my expression of disappointment with the speed at which CAL Invaders delivered their rendition at the Oval Car Park at the Preliminaries for the Large Bands Category has hurt or even angered members of the Invaders fraternity.

I take this opportunity to unreservedly apologize for the negativity it has caused and to stress that there was absolutely no malice meant.

I remain

Yours respectfully

  • While I agree the comment(s) made were to say the least disrespectful and lacked a sense of responsibility, it seems to me that there are people on these blogs whose sole purpose is to denigrate any official of Pan Trinbago.

Personally I'd like to see the administration held accountable for all their alleged misdeeds.

Mr. Mendez has apologized for his indiscretion. I'm sure he's in a very uncomfortable position given that a senior member of Invaders also works at the same office.

The language and vitriol expressed in some of the responses reinforces my opinion that there is a group of people whose only purpose is to vent anger and criticize destructively.

Mr Mendez should've realized that in his position such a comment was ill advised and not thought out(brain not engaged before putting mouth in motion), however that sort of comment is a pure panman reaction. I reiterate it should not have been uttered by the individual

Two wrongs don't make a right. Please tone down the language. Mr. Mendez has to live with the fact that he was totally wrong and learn from that terrible and unfortunate incident.

  • He dam lucky dis wuzzen Final Nite. I wudda spen de money to hire de bess lawyer to sue he arse, especially if de ban did lose. De man is really ah plain an simple JACKASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • We must accept Mr. Mendez' apology but he must always be cognizant of the fact that he is the chairman of the Northern Region.  He must act responsibly at all times and avoid utterances like that in public.  He is not an ordinary by-stander.  Be on your best behaviour, always.

  • When the CHAIRMAN of the region who is standing in the vicinity of the judges table, makes the following utterances;-

"Them playing dah tune to slow ,that is a jam tune".

    "Allstars go beat them bad"

'them ain't playing that good, dey bong to run out"..

We have a big problem, but because Invaders like AllStars is a band with decorum, i am certain the management of the band will accept your apology, but this must never happen again.

For information to all concerned, the Arranger Mr. Herbert choose to play the tune at that speed for the Preliminary judging, it was  a strategy...

  • If your expression was loud and disruptive, apology accepted. Otherwise no need to be apologetic, there were others who felt the same way.
