The last leg of Pan Is Beautiful XII, which was the Orchestras Category, took place at The Savannah in Port of Spain, Trinidad on November 16th, 2013.

The Codrinton Pan Family who won the preliminaries on October 19th, also won the Tune of Choice scoring 289 points, followed by Invaders.
Invaders won the Best Test Piece also scoring 289 points followed by Codrinton Pan Family. This was the first time that the top two Steel Orchestras' Tune of Choice were locally written.
"The Pan with Love-Our Gift to the World" was composed by Ms. Keisha Codrinton, and "1962 Overture-Our Independence" was composed by Mr. Arddin Herbert.

Southern region always seems to hold on to the soloist, there are some good panplayers down there

Congratulations to the Codrinton Pan Family on your well deserved victory at Pan Is Beautiful XII. Your victory also saved the Northern region, because the Ensemble & Soloist winners are from the Southern region, and the Single Pan winner is from the Eastern region. (lol)
The following are the placing and points at Preliminaries compared to the Finals.
Codrinton Pan Family "Pan with Love-Our Gift to the World" composed by Keisha Codrinton; arranged by Keisha, Khari & Cary Condrinton scored 522 at prelims and maintained their lead with 577 at finals for 1st.
Tropical Angel Harps "The voices in my Head" composed & arranged by Clarence Morris were 2nd with 514, but dropped to 7th at the finals with 489.
Invaders "Zampa Overture" arranged by Arddin Herbert placed 3rd with 513 points. However they changed their tune to "1962 Overture-Our Independence" composed & arranged by Arddin Herbert placing 2nd with 571.
Exodus "Moods of Maestro" compilation of the late Cecil Humes was arranged by Pelham Goddard were 4th with 512 marks at prelims, but dropping to 5th at finals scoring 547.
Renegades "Academic Festival Overture" arranged by Desmond Waithe was 5th with 511 points, but moved a notch up to 4th at finals scoring 550 marks.
Couva Joylanders Theme from "Lord of the Rings" arranged by J. Whitney, A. Keshwar, Kareem Brown & Ben Jackson placed 6th at prelims with 507 points, but moved up 3 places to 3rd at finals scoring 566 marks.
Diatonic "Symphony #4" aranged by Khion Delas ran 7th at prelims with 496, but dropped to 8th with 476.
Pan Elders "The Barber of Serville" arranged by Dante Pantin was 8th at prelims with 491 points, but moved up to 6th at finals with 496.
I hate to be a recurring decimal; Pan is really beautiful, but we pannists must be more supportive.

This is testimony to the fact that we have a pool talent that can compete and be recognized. in the international arena. I make a special appeal to our citizens to rally around our artistes and increase their level of support at all steelband events.
