A true lover of Trinbago culture, Etienne Charles, was determined to do the deepest possible research into the music root in Carnival. In 2015 he was awarded the Guggenheim Fellowship which funded research into Carnival in its purest, most authentic form. On Thursday Etienne hosted a panel discussion which featured Maria Nunes, Robin Foster and Wendell Manwarren to share his findings and discuss the status of local culture. Dionne Baptiste reports.
