From the 1957 Cook Album, The Champion Steelbands of Trinidad. here is one of the first all girl steel bands, Girl Pat Steel orchestra.Pan people, these pioneering ladies deserve our recognition!

    Proud to say my aunt Jean Manwarren(née Ewing) was a member of this band.Her brothers Hugh,Leon( dec)+ Terry(dec) were pioneers of the great Dem Boys+ Dem Fortunates. Her husband is the Titan king of many carnivals productions. Her son is Wendell Manwarren a member of 3-Canal.My uncle Terry(deceased) was a top costume maker for Harold Saldennah and made the first pan ashtray that we see in curio shops all over T+T..Thank you Glenroy for this.These were some very sophisticated ladies who early on defied the odds and the scorn of the naysayers for the love of pan.

    Just great! A lot better than some of the tasteless noisy crap 

    you hear nowadays with people jumping around and wrapped up 

    in their own egos.
