Pan history is Black History.  How do you plan to celebrate Black History Month 2014?  On Saturday, February 1, 7pm EST "SteelpanVibes, It's More Than Music!" kicks off our celebration on 100.7FM in Palm Bay/Melbourne/Sebastian; 94.7FM in Cocoa/Rockledge/Titusville/Merritt Island/The Beaches and streaming live at www.hot947fm.com with the influence of jazz on steelpan soloists and orchestras.   Recordings by Golden Hands Steel Ensemble, Sound Specialists of Laventille, Invaders Steel Orchestra, Northern Illinois University Steel Band, Jason 'Peanut' Issac, Rudy Smith, Andy Narell, Garvin Blake and Victor Provost are in the line-up.  Be sure to tune in!
In the Spotlight, we are honored to have Mrs. Beatrice Robinson Gillespie, an African-American elder and former high school and college educator.  Mrs. Robinson Gillespie will recount some of her experiences growing up in the days of segregation in the USA.  Don't miss this opportunity to learn more about our story!
