Hello St Luke's Steelband Family,

Over the last 10 years Music Haven and St. Luke's Steelband, have come together on this special day to recognize and highlight the important work done by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. throughout the short time he spent with us.
While we were unable to present a concert this year, we wanted to continue to highlight this day, the work that was done and the work that is still needed to be done.

As we reflect on the recent violence at our nation's capital and also the current threats all states face this week with the inauguration of a new administration, we know that the work isn't done. However, while it took longer than it should we have to recognize the accomplishments of President Barack Obama in 2008 being the first African American President of this country, Kamala Harris who will be sworn in as the first African American/South Asian Female Vice President and the others that paved the way for them.

Always Remember:
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that".. Martin Luther King Jr.

Debby, thank you for compiling and editing this video for us and to Music Haven, thank you for your years of partnership and contribution to the success of all of our joint endeavors.

To everyone, we hope you enjoy this short reflection of ours and make today a great day celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and we look forward to seeing you at our MLK celebration in 2022.
