Hell’s Gate pan yard vandalised

ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Vandal(s) reportedly targeted Hell’s Gate Steel Orchestra’s pan yard in Villa and destroyed several tyres on a trailer in the process.

The band’s spokesperson, Stafford Joseph said the damage to a container where used to store steel pans was discovered several days ago.

“Persons unknown to us slashed the tyres,” he said.

“It is very expensive for us to be replacing tyres … we play out but we have to put the money back into the band … we all know pans can cost thousands of dollars. This has never happened before and we are very concerned.”

  • Hi Stove, I am so sorry to hear about this pathetic act of cowardice. You and the guys will rise above this senseless act of vandalism. I know that it is approaching the start of the carnival season and do sincerely hope that the band can use this incidence as motivation to go do some damage of a different kind in PANORAMA 2014. Peace my brother!
