Pan celebration of Manning

THAT Pan Trinbago should have chosen Marabella for its Pan in De Countryside last Saturday seems to be poetic. Most of the people at the Marabella Recreation Ground used the event as a “Celebration of the Life” of former prime minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Patrick Manning.

Manning died early Saturday morning at the San Fernando General Hospital. It was definitively not a sad occasion at the venue.

A former panman himself, Manning as PM made the pan the national musical instrument (August 1992).
