Everything Related to the Steelpan Instrument and Music
Roy Cape, for many, is best known as the saxophone player and leader of the Roy Cape All Stars. This iconic musician, however, is a walking encyclopedia of music history in Trinidad and Tobago and most of it is contained in a new book called Roy Cape: A Life on The Calypso and Soca Bandstand.
Roy Cape has an interesting story, can't wait for part 2
This such a Great Interview.
Fascinating! Please publish the other part(s) of the interview.
I'm currently reading Roy Cape's book.
Very interesting , entertaining and informative behind the scenes account of the iconic musician's life and experiences in the Trinidad and Caribbean music scene over the past five decades or so.
The book covers a lot of incidents and events that would interest Trinidad culture lovers, and offers an historical record of an eventful time in the life of our nation and culture.
I'll have more to say when I'm finished reading the book, but so far , it is a must read for anyone with even a passing interest in our culture.
And of course, like so many of our musicians , Roy Cape's first musical instrument was a tenor pan :)
