Exodus may have played without canopies . . . but they crated a WALL from the 'canopies' of two empty racks that they tilted to ENSURE that the sound intented reached the judges' ears. It was innovative, sneaky, well positioned and unfair all at the same time. Observe your surroundings and work on besting your situations! Go X.O. - all the way to the grand stand to see the finals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Big shout out to Avis Bruce; Co-composer of "Somewhere In Tobago" and co-arranger of West Side Symphony.

When de people ask "where de trophy gone for medium band?" you need to tell dem . . .
"SOMEWHERE IN TOBAGO!!!!"
i agree with this. if they are lettin in any more bands they should let all 17 bands play. but that will also cause another bachannal with the small and medium bands because they will say that the large bands are gettin more privileges than them seeing that they already have automatic placement in the semi finals.but it is only fair that they let in the 17 bands if they are lettin in any more.
Exodus did their home-work this year...Phase 2 #1??? Invaders...dont know how they made it tho but...it's politics.... so...lets see if Silver Stars could reclaim their title. All Stars....wow, looking out for them(great performance). Congrats to WEST SIDE SYMPHONY TOBAGO on making it to the finals.
MATURE performance by de Phase. Controlled, precise, relaxed, and polished. Simple yet extremely effective music. The tempo just above a panyard coast. Boogsie and the band sure have come a LONG way. Dat kind of performance and tempo mus be had Ray beamin.

I'll also say this....I was VERY IMPRESSED by Sforzata yesterday. Andre White eh easy sah and I can't fathom how they finished where they did. But the judges in their infinite wisdom know a hell lot more about music than me. All I could say is keep on doin yuh thing Andre because for me...you got next. Deltones were such a disappointment to me. I was anxiously waiting to hear them because I have such high regard for Carlton Alexander...then C cut out to go to news....by the time they did play them...they seemed flat. Guess the judges found so too...maybe de judges was watchin C and ketch dem on de replay. Finally, Skiffle Bunch for me was a joy. Beautiful music from an arranger I know nothing about...kudos to him and de band.

Phase II, Skiffle Bunch and Despers showed that is not necessarily about PACE that will get yuh results in Panorama. Glad to see the legacy of the master Mr. Clive Bradley livin on in dat respect. Congrats to ALL the bands that played yesterday and tough luck to those that didn't make it to the finals.
Great reading your comment panrebel. I thought the standard was pretty high in that the real truth is that music does not have to be solely loud, fast and a continuous ramajay to be enjoyable. Not only in the pan world of T and T is this questionable but also in the calypso and every other genre of music in this country. Seems like the standards are finally changing and the skill and true technique and beauty of pan music is rising . The masters have left their mark and we cannot help on improving on their genius. With the Mozart and Verdi of pan working in unison , you cannot help but feel the flow of perfection. I am refering to Boogsie and Ray.It was exciting pan for me this year, and I was particularly elated to hear Invaders led by the young and talented Arddinn Herbert , I feel this is a Boogsie or a Ray or a Professor or a Robert or a Clive Bradley in the making, lets wait and see.
Hello Ms. Fridal

There were some great moments in this panorama. However, no left me with a complete story. Maybe that will be in place by finals.

bugs
SILVER STARS FTW!!!!
Look thing na... Check out the Medium band results. All the Tobago band them reach in. #1,3,5,7 and 9... Congratsto the sister aisle. Anyway as far as PanTrinbago and the Judging go. Every thing nowadays is gone to digital and the technology flow. The top big band score is 270. If that is out of 300 I feel that they should turn over a 10 point difference to the people. On Panorama day we text which bands we place from 1 - 10 and after they talley up the votes they add that to the scores of the big bands. Even if I bias to Exodus or Despers I still would have to place Phase II or a Tobago band. It would shake up the judging system I fine. I might have Phase II as number one with 10 points and someone else have them as #10 with 1 point dropping their average. So it will unbias the judging system. Just some Food for thought for PanTrinbago governing authority.
WHAT!!!!!
that is a fantastic idea...ppl will also hav a say so that they cannot complain it would truly show democracy....great thinking theron!!!
Thank you very much. They cant blame the judges for that at all...lol
That's not a good idea because folks will vote for their favorite band. Also, in terms of the criteria for judging music most folks don't have a clue...if it sounds good to them they'll vote for it, even if the arrangement is juvenile musically.
