"Compliments of Pan Magazine - Q&A: Duvone Stewart By Ted Goslin
What do you love most about the instrument?
The instrument is magical. When one listens to the sounds that emanate from the playing of a wooden stick with rubber at the head…"

"So, Pan is not seen as an integral and important part of Caribbean Cultural Expressions??? What disrespect for the National Instrument... Then they gasp and wonder why many call for "action"... At Expo 67, steelpan was on…"
I heard that 610 Radio Guardian came on with Yellow Bird, but we tuned in to Radio Trinidad 1. to listen to the tune and learn it and 2. My sister was a radio announcer with them back then and when I phoned her for info she actually hummed the tune and referred me to other people. Today 13th Oct. I went to the station and was referred to two people Winston Maynard and Edison Carr who were both able to confirm the song's name as CALL OF THE KISKIDEE and the composer was Umilta Mc Shine.
Lord Kitchener sang a calypso about the two stations playing their sign on tune. His chorus was....RADIO GUARDIAN,OUTA D BLUE... 610 IS CALLING YOU....AND IF YUH STILL LAY DOWN LIKE YUH DEAD....TRINIDAD GO PING PONG YOU OUT YOU BED ...then he did a mouth pan solo
