Brian Pinkey replied to Pan Times's discussion A Message from Exodus Steel Orchestra
"Savannah Grass is a far better song than Rag Storm, and I had hoped some of the bands would pick it for Panorama. So I am glad that Exodus was able to change tunes for the finals. Two weeks isn't a lot of time to arrange and learn it. I do hope…"

Brian Pinkey replied to Pan Times's discussion Judge rules: Exodus free to play Savannah Grass at Panorama final
"That is good news for me, and for Panorama! I always wanted some good band to take on Savannah Grass, one of the best songs offered. Exodus must work hard to polish up something that sets the crowds and judges jaws agape! I hope they do it right,…"

Brian Pinkey replied to Claude Gonzales's discussion INVADERS deserves a STAND ALONE posting for THIS PERFORMANCE of HOOKIN' MEH
"On the other hand, inserting suggested similar themed songs into the arrangement, dilutes the strength of the arrangement and confuses the Hookin Meh tune itself! Some of the key changes are perfunctory rote (walk up to the new scale stuff). I…"

"Good for Exodus! Hope they can play it for Panorama Finals. There is good history for allowing this change of tune. Before Panorama was created, steel bands would often prepare a "Bomb tune" in secret, to surprise and best rival steel…"
