First off, the truth is always better even if it hurts.  It is by these circumstances that occur, weather negative or positive, that history is built on. There are some quotes that have recently been…Continue

Marketing

Good Day, to whom it may concern. The word "marketing" keeps coming up in  the vocabulary of those  who have the idea that Pan is an industry. It is not; it is an art form and a proud culture of a…Continue

"They do not necessarily have to unlearn this. But, they do have to add to it and evolve and not become stagnant. It is often safer to go with the status quo. Being the first to take a risk with something different is a challenge. Will it be…"

Charlene Lusk replied to Pan Times's discussion Pan As A Developing Art Form by Ansel Joseph
"The answer is a definite YES from me. Orchestrating for different instruments definitely gave them insight into thinking of each type of pan as an individual voice in the arrangement and not simply part of a whole steel band. Often we hear the term…"

About the Man Himself, Ellie Mannette

ABOUT THE MAN HIMSELF

Much is known of Ellie as a pan tuner and popular steel-band man, but not many people know of his academic side. Ellie as a young man was very ambitious and at an early age became an apprentice in machinery and graduated at the top of his class as a Lathe Operator. He was well recognized for his work in Trinidad in that field, as a valued employee at the Acme Engineering Co. on Richmond street. His first encounter with Navy would come when US Navy forces staged a…

Williams and Williams alone derived/created the 4ths & 5ths technology, no one else, and how dare U, he is NOT DRACULAR either, even though Michel de Nostradame wrote a Quatrain about him in 1555,  a translation from French Pattwa " In a faraway isle, with parasol images, an instrument for recording sounds, he would seduce the world with mystagogic tones", the cycle of 5ths or 4ths & 5ths NEVER appeared in any TEXT BOOK in the 16th Century or prior to that, not untill in the late 1970s did it start showing up in music theory, I never saw anything in any of MY musical catechism about it in 1956 when I started learning to read music, I do not know what science fiction story book's U been reading, it seem's like, The Cow Jump Over the Moon "Author Cutridge" wrote the literature you're reading or getting your information from, end of comments and conversations...

WHY, because Williams is part Black and part Indian, who did not go to High School or a University, a carpenter pan man that  was born in Trinidad & Tobago in 1931? Mr Lusk, we as a people are living in a Culture where it's ok to bring down one another, via  jealousy or abuse with total disrespect, normally I wouldn't respond to your comment, however, in July of 1963 when we of SNSE applied for the International Patent, in the name of  Anthony Williams, a search warranted which they did in London, that took 2 and 1/2 months, the result came back that it was granted on the 18th September 1963 as NO ONE ELSE had created anything identical or similar, the individual whom created the Geometric Theorem that Williams used was, 500 BC Greek Mathematician "PYTHAGORAS", before he was murdered burned to death, in "CENTRO UNIVERSITARIO A DISTANZA PITAGORA ", his own University, other's who used his theorem were, Plato, Damonof Athens, the Musicial instructor of Socrates, Nicholos Copenicas, Tycho Brahe and Johann Kepler who ceated the 5 lines & 4 spaces for the musical manuscript that we use in today's music, I could disclose muchmore but I won't...

Ms Charlene Lusk's and Senor Claude Gonzales, some "History of Invaders", nothing negative just straight "FACT'S", "Green Eye's" derive/give birth to, two band's in 1944 while World War II were in progress, using paint pans, as ping pong and dud ups, phasing out the bamboo tamboo, as costic soda tin's and the biscuit drum came later, the man who put this all together was "Ellie's" older brother, "Ossie" Mannette, and the late "Francis Wickhamr" the tuner and arranger was Ossie and Ellie's older sister's "Ruby's" son "Herman La Careo Gomez" who design the Indvaders tenor with F# in the middle, "Birdie" Mannette was also tuning and playing tune boom's, before Ellie, as photo's have disclosed, other players were "Mi Fan, Lloyd Lori, Berry Dove, Kelvin Dove, "coster" Wickham, "chick magoo" Springer, "Val Arthur, and off course Ellie Mannette a "chak chak" and dud up player, untill he Ellie took over in 1949, when Gomez leave to open and tune for "Star Land", in 1949 as Invaders they won the Island Wide Festival with a piece called "It's Magic", by 1950 arranger "Errol Zephrine" gave Invaders the tonal sound they had untill he left, players were "Emanuel "cobo jack" Riley from Green eye's, Winston"Mouter Bee" Phillip Ray Holman, Monty Williams, Mikey Phillip, Splav, Filo James, etc etc etc, I'll give U guy's more later on...
