Busby, Cyrus

Few could wave the flag like Mr. Cyrus Busby, a member of Despers USA and D'Radoes Steel Orchestras in Brooklyn, New York. He passed away earlier this evening, shortly after 6:00 p.m. September 30th, 2013 in Brooklyn. Mr. Busby was the ESSENCE of Pan in New York. He was always clear on the direction that Pan here should take. Cyrus grew up in Gonzales in Trinidad. He will be sorely missed.

Even when you know someone may not have been medically well it is still sad when you have to say goodbye. Love to matriarch Ma Busby, wife Jean, sisinlaw Joan, David, Herman, Kenneth's widow along with the host of family and friends mourn the loss, especially in the pan community.
--Special love and prayers from the Griffith and Brown families also from Gloster Lodge Road in Gonzales (childhood friends/family)

My condolences to Cy's family. I got to know Cy thru Arnim Barkley who was my boss in the computer room at Con Edison Hq. I had just joined Metro on Fulton St (near the Blue Coronet bar) We became fast friends and remained friends. He certainly had a VISION of the direction PAN should be going. He was ALL positive and completely committed on that. His very existence was his love for the instrument and where it should be going.

Yes, he did go there and Lennox is his brother. I grew up with him on Gloster Lodge Road in Gonzales.. That house is still stand there when I visited my friends who live next door on the other corner this year carnival
