  • I don't know why Desperadoes didn't make the finals? But the young arranger Andre White did a magnificent arrangement. He is a star in the making!!!!!!

  • Well done Andre and Despers, one of the best performances of the night, certainly. But be not dismayed by this result........use it as a motivator to be bigger, better and stronger in 2013 God's willing. If it is the Radoes stick with u and ur undoubted potential. Sumhow i get the feeling that despers somewhat 'held back' in this semi......wonder why.....Andre's arrangements for New York an London were far better than this one. Whoever talked him into leaning towards the 'vintage despers' style shudve jus kept their mouth shut an let him unleash his 'own' ideas, feelings an freshness to the trinidad panorama scene. If it was his idea to be vintage then i guess only he knows why he chose that route. He got this far by having his own 'born an bred' style, dont see why he shudnt give it a shot with a band as legendary as Desperadoes.......ALL THE VERY BEST for 2013 Andre and Despers.....yall fit well.

  • Don't be discourage Andre your music and Desperadoes was one of the best on semi-final night, I hope they keep  faith with you and come back stronger next year and don't hold back anything . Every year we see the sacrifice of one  good band or the other, one year it was Exodus ,last year was Renegades this year pick was Despers, you will prevail at the top it's just a matter of time, all best still...one LOVE.

  • The arrangement was very good, some very good phrasing and good riddem.. Have a feeling there might be some "hating" (according to the kids) with with this young talented arranger who is not born in TnT. I hope he does not get discouraged and comes back even more deterrmined next chance he gets. Despers go be back next year.

Good luck to all the finalist.

  • Very good performance poor story telling.

This sound like pan filling. Trying to fatten some thing that has no body. Its good to supprt a young person. Where is the story of black men like mr sharpe in this. Despers music always carries story of the time. After SOE and being moved from your home. This is what near poor story I have to be witness to. This band plays well always. poor story telling. , This tune celebrates Sharpe and no reference made to him.

  • I heard it now I know. Thanks Robert for showing leadership.

  • Sweet music youth....keep doiing your thing!!!!

  • dem blasted blue jerseys

  • the killer instinct will be there next year......firing from the word go this was an experience for the band and a welcome to the big yard for Andre who no doubt will achieve success in the future.this roughing up will ensure next year we Desperadoes as a band work harder and be more disciplined and hold nothing back in the semis ever again to face something like this again.....I dont consider myself a supporter but a TRUE DESPERADO  leaving the hill 5am watching Brados do his magic.I am disappointed that panorama 2012 will have no sweet music to really listen to bar Sharpe Duvonne and Pro.....Andre has all what it takes ....music and heart all the positives for him.that killer instinct must be there from the count holding nothing back giving them what they want hear and not compromising musically as Brados did in the past.SO DESPERADOES 2013 WE COMING OUT FOR THEM.....TAKIN NO PRISONERS...SHOOTING THE MUSIC AT THEM AND NOT HOLDING BACK  ANYTHING EVERYTIME WE PERFORM FROM SUNDAY WE SHOULD GO ALL OUT WITH THAT KILLER INSTINCT OF TRUE DESPERADOES.........

  • started off with a bang, ended with a whimper, and wandered aimlessly thru the middle. there was a nice motif throughout, but there wasn't overall anything compelling enough to get other than this disappointing result.

andre obviously has talent, and will bounce back from this disappointment, as will despers.

but the last thing that either should do is blame the judges. i don't always agree with the judges, and the judges don't always agree with the judges. but by and large they got it right on this occasion.

i do not envy them (the judges) the task they have. with this kind of fierce competition, we may see a 5-way tie for 1st, and 6-way tie for second. lol!

the bands and arrangers have got to do something *compelling* to get an edge. this performance was good and competent with some sweet passages here and there, but it was not *compelling*.

was deltones clearly superior? no. but they were more "up", and energetic. that may be all the difference it takes in this kind of competition to get a better result.

was there a bit of miles davis in this arrangement, i wonder? artist-centered vs audience-sensitive? that works with a really compelling artist, like miles davis, who commands the attention of the audience even if he is paying it no mind. but this is panorama. a meandering extended jam session probably does not even work for the players, let alone the judges.

but andre will get over this and do better, as long as he doesn't cop an attitude. he has the talent. despers as a family should use this as a spur to regroup, and come back harder and stronger next year. triumph and disappointment, both, are impostors. it's how you deal with them. i'm sure the elders know that already.
