  • AWESOME !

  • That Invaders performance of "SteelBand Clash " should be Framed and kept for Posterity . Also this coming Carnival they should definitely be playing it on the road . Dey make de War Lord PROUD .

  • These performances are fantastic!  Will air some on my program on Monday, January 23rd, between 3 and 5 am New York Time.  I'll be happy to mention WST as a place Listeners can visit to hear these absolutely wonderful performances.  Stephen The Soca Warrior, Executive Producer and Host of Telling It Like It Is, alternating Mondays on 99.5 FM in the NY Tri-State Area, streaming live and archived at www.wbai.org.  Happy New Year Everybody!

  • This is really great. Sorry that I missed the live performance!

  • Great idea, just wish it can just be a concert without a contest.
  • This concert should be on world tour
  • It was quite a rewarding experience for all who attended, except the judges.
  • I missed it but I heard it was a great night of pan music. I am also sorry that Renegades was not asked.
  • This was a great idea by Mr. Junior Hutson. I did question him as to why Renegades was not invited. I thought that Desperadoes and Renegades came out around the same time, but I was wrong. I know that Renegades has a great repertoire, and I hope that Casablanca will be ready for "The Six Pillars Of Steel" (lol)

The turn out would have been larger if rain did not fall that Friday Night. Wack Radio streamed the Concert, so Steve Sealy and myself had to keep commenting as the crowds ran for shelter. Thanks for the Giant Umbrellas, we only got slightly wet. The performance of all the Steel Orchestras were outstanding. I was mostly suprised by Tokyo. Since they performed first, I said, the bigger bands will have to watch out. Their was a little controversy over Desperadoes winning of the Classical Category.                                                                    All Stars performed "The Barber Of Seville," Invaders played the "Hallelujah Chorus." Both Steel Orchestras played the entire piece. But, Desperadoes only played the can can part of "Orpheous Of The Underworld," which was only three minutes in length however, they received the largest ovation from the crowd.

All Stars won the Calypso Category, Desperadoes won the other three categories. I am looking forward to      The Pillars Of Steel from the South and from Tobago. Thanks Junior for your brainstorm,                              and big up to Richmond Street Boys of the 60's.

  • Two thumbs up on this one.
