Cultural Icon and Pan Activist Eddie Yearwood passes away this evening.

He suffered a massive heart attack.

He was a Calypso Tent Emcee and a Pan Commentator.

He was in the process of finalising arrangements for a two-hour radio programme about pan.

Sincere condolences to his sons.

I am in shock. Eddie was our real bredren way before my sister and I began playing pan in Starlift. We''ll remember him for his integrity, gentle spirit, lust for life and wonderful sense of humor. First Olliviera, now Eddie...

Condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Eddie "Swankypops" Yearwood.
I first heard about Mr. Yearwood when his Pan Show, The Magic of Pan, streamed on the internet. We met in person in 2007, when he invited me to be a guest on his Pan Programme. Thanks Swanky for all the memories; your fans at home and abroad could not wait for Sundays to tune in to The Magic of Pan.

    R.I.P.

Thanks Mr. Charles Gordon for the info.

His contribution to our T&T Culture is still alive and would never leave our memories. A friend, a brother and always had a positive vibes. Condolence to his family.

Rest in peace brother

Another cultural icon has left us for the great beyond. May he REST IN PEACE.

When Steel Talks extends condolences to the family and friends of Eddie Yearwood (Swanky Pops)

GD MNG TO YOU PAN FAMILY JUST LIKE TO OFFER MY CONDOLENCES  TO ONE OUR OWN FAMILY MEMBERS EDDIE YEARWOOD MAY GOD BLESS HIS FAMILY MY FRIEND R.I.P

.....My sincerest condolences to his family............

Eddy,  to have known you is a blessing.

I am not one to express "shock" on the passing of a close acquaintance/colleague/friend/icon, particularly when I was well aware of Eddie's recent/ongoing health challenges; but instances like these always cause me to pause, reflect and resolve to take something positive from the lives of those who "pass through" and share my journey in whatever way.

Eddie surely was one of those, in my case, as a former colleague at the Ministry of Culture (late '90s) and a fellow culture lover.

Condolences from my wife and I to his family, particularly his offspring Rembunction & Olatunji.  God's Blessings.  R.I.P.

My condolences to the family.

Our condolences to the Family and friends of Eddie Yearwood. I was very fortunate to have a couple of times been on his radio show. He was very professional and yet "user friendly"  to work with as he used his self proclaimed introduction of "Just call me 'SwankPops' " May you Rest In Peace brother you have been a devoted soldier for the Pan Cause.
