This was obviously intended to spark a conversation not only on the criteria for selecting Legends, how was the contribution assessed and the value of this classification. I will follow the discussion to see where the discussion leads. My only addition would be all TASPO participants.

You have to be crazy to not include Bobby Mohammed. By the way Alan Gervais established his genius by pairing with Bobby--the perfect combination of tuner and arranger. There has never been a pairing like that.

I have to assume that this list is far from complete , because the three names already mentioned should be on any list of significant pan people.

And on the subject of legends , there is an individual who was a ping pong (tenor pan ) champion , pan pioneer.

A legend who influenced another (forgotten ) legend , Lennox Bobby Mohammed to play the pan.

This individual was also a guitarist who went to Jamaica and is acknowledged as one of the creators of reggae / rock steady.

By any measure he should be considered a legend.

His name is Nearlin ( Lynn ) Taitt.

And BTW , How about Earl Rodney ?
