I would leave it up to the principals of Cordettes, the only steel band on the road for carnival in Sangre Grande (if they have the will to do so publicly), to speak on the gross disrespect by The current Sangre Grande Carnival Improvement Committee (SGCIC) on carnival Tuesday evening at about 7:30pm, when the band was instructed by the SGCIC MC, over the PA system, to "keep moving, move out of the way, no pan, let the music truck pass". while about to play.

As His Worship The Mayor of San Fernando has clearly stated in this recorded interview, The Sangre Grande Carnival Improvement Committee, not unlike the San Fernando police, clearly;

Disrespected the art form.
Took the art form back decades when steelband men were slaughtered and jailed without cause.
Owe Cordettes and The people of Sangre Grande an apology for their disrespect.
May not have recognized that Sangre Grande did well in the Panorama this year, and the people of Sangre Grande are proud on their band,.
Has not demonstrated their ability to be the stewards of carnival in Sangre Grande.

Would members of the Port of Spain Carnival Improvement Committee (if such a body exists), or The NCC instruct All Stars, Desperadoes or Renegades to cease playing for a music truck that refuses to lower its volume to pass?

The Ministry of Culture needs to step in and seriously "do sumptin fuh pan". Imagine a carnival committee telling panmen "NO PAN"? We need to MAKE PAN GREAT AGAIN, and you know what THAT means.
