- The 1st Australian Steelband Festival features steelbands from around Australia and New Zealand including Pans on Fire (Marysville & Triangle District), Rivercity Steel Band (Brisbane), Cairns Pan Stars Steel Orchestra (Cairns), Caribbeanz Southern Stars Steelband (Auckland), Sydney Children’s Steelband (Sydney), The Pantastic Steelband (Sunshine Coast), Jammin’ (Taggerty) and Hot Pans (Marysville & Triangle District), plus the Trinidadian Connection (Lennox Jordan, Alvin Rostant, Matthew Davies, Denis Gonzales, Sharon Brown, Kenny Griffiths, Courtney Leiba) with Trinidadian performers who live and perform in Australia, and Australians; individual performances and workshops throughout the weekend, Calypso Night on Saturday, and the Super Steelband Concert on Sunday afternoon.
