Antigua & Barbuda, W.I. - A showdown is brewing between communications giants Digicel and LIME as the latter contests Digicel’s title sponsorship of the newly renamed Digicel Halcyon Steel Orchestra.

On Monday, LIME, the title sponsor of Carnival 2012, threw the first punch by launching an official complaint with the Carnival Development Committee (CDC).

According to an internal Pan Association communiqué obtained by OBSERVER Media, LIME’s objections are in regards to “CDC’s breach of an existing Carnival contract.”

The dispute arose when on Friday Digicel unveiled its new title sponsorship of what was formally known as the Hadeed Group of Companies Halcyon Steel Orchestra in a press event at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

  • I don't see anything wrong they way it seemed was like they where trying to sponsor the event, they are helping a band and thats something most bands don't get.

What is wrong is that LIME just didn't want the Digicel name branding one of their formerly sponsored pansides.
