Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - Pan Trinbago president Keith Diaz yesterday underwent an angioplasty procedure after suffering a heart attack, Pan Trinbago’s secretary Richard Forteau informed Newsday yesterday. He is currently hospitalized at St. Clair Medical.
Pan Trinbago informed the public late on Thursday that Diaz had a medical emergency and was rushed to a medical facility at 1:30 p.m. that day. Newsday was also informed that Diaz was at a National Carnival Commission (NCC) meeting when he suffered a heart attack.
....Contacted yesterday for comment, ace panist Dane Gulston, who has led the charge against the Diaz administration, for the handling of Pan Trinbago’s affairs, said he was saddened by the news of Diaz’s medical condition saying he had nothing personal against the Pan Trinbago head.
He said that while he remains firm that change must take place in the management of Pan Trinbago, his prayers and thoughts are with Diaz. “A person’s health is a whole other different thing,” Gulston said. He maintained however that the entire Pan Trinbago executive must go over its handling of the organisation. To date, panmen and women have not been paid their $1,000 stipend for performing in the 2016 Panorama competition.

I am very sorry to hear about the medical emergency/ heart attack suffered by Keith Diaz.
We should all pray for his speedy recovery so that he can be indicted and imprisoned for systematically pilfering the coffers of pan players in T&T.
In a way it is really sad to see all this DRAMA surrounding PAN TRINBAGO. But at the same time, CHANGE has its rough edges. Two members of the executive resigned this week and a New President was sworn in.
I would advise Dane and his group to keep the protest and the pressure ALIVE. They should be out again on MONDAY screaming and yelling outside the offices of PAN TRINBAGO.
Try as hard as you could to make FORTEAU the THIRD resignation. Although I know that he plans to hang on to the bitter end. And to the 20,000 posters on WST, this is your chance to join the chorus and scream as loudly as you could to FINISH OFF this corrupt EXECUTIVE.
And when the NEW EXECUTIVE takes office, I am demanding that they incorporate the WST COMMUNITY in various projects that EXPATS are best suited to execute on the GLOBAL LEVEL.
