The opportunity of a life time came when performing for Roy Brooks Aboriginal Percussion Choir landed me on stage often with Max Roach, Tito Puente', Orthello and my buddy Emile Borde. This edged on also to working 7 yrs for Aretha Franklin. You can catch "Show Time Video at the Music Hall Detroit where I'm blessed to be on Pan. Our Band Leader HB & Aretha could be very liberal at times.
A car accident however blessed me as a post head injury victim turned into victor. I thank God for that healing every time I play or teach pans.
Having taught my family, 3 schools and now at 10th St, I've learned to use the patience that my band leadesr put in me to give to others to help them be there best!
Gratitude Steel Band is celebrating 30 yrs this month and through the efforts and musical skills of our family members, agents and friends we've come this far for the love of pan & people by God's Hand.
