What interests you about the steelband art form? If you like, go ahead and tell your fellow WST Ning members about yourself here
I am the composer of the first concerto ever written for steelpan and orchestra, written for and premiered by Liam Teague in the middle nineties. I have also written a thirty-minute work for steel band, chorus, and soloists for the Notre Dame Chamber Singers, Songs of the Streetwise, based on poems written by homeless people of Chicago. I am keenly interested in the steelpan as an instrument of great espressivity, virtuosity, tone color, and versatility and have Liam Teague, Cliff Alexis, and G. Allan O'Connor to thank for this realization.
