Welcome to WST. I look forward to sharing ideas with you. I thought you would be in TnT by now. BTW judging from the practice videos I have watched, it appears that Trinidad All Stars are ready to defend. I find Boogsie's "Archbishop of Pan" is too routinized and does not get my attention. The "John Brown" bit at the end is too simple.I thought he would follow Michelle Huggins from last year and do some real gospel. I expected so much more from Boogsie; however, final night is different and he could add some surprises. Duvonne Stewart will Renegades is great precision and good technique, but no real Trini Vibe. "Vibes" should remind us why we come to hear pan. Dig into our psyche and touch a nerve. This arrangement has a jam but the tune gets lost. It started like an old Jit which is signature for this band; however, where are the different genres which make up our vibe? Nice try for a first start. Professor with Fonclaire is on the right track but will the judges give south a winner? It's long over- due.Tropical Angel Harps did not win me over with this tune. This song does not have depth. I believe arrangers need producers. Someone to tell them what parts in a tune need fixing. Sometimes we get hypnotise by the music and forget about the weak areas. This tune needs work. There is still time to fix some of the arrangement. Good Luck to all!
