i played with Panam until i migrated to the usa in1970 we formed a band by the name of brooklynnaires comprising of ex panam players our arranger was winston wellington a lead tenor player with panam. Panam had relocated to upper bournes rd , As young school boys we use to play around with the pans.one day anthony williams(skip) came to the pan yard unexpectedly and saw us. i was fooling around on the cielo pan he came over to me and said he had to go to a meeting and want to show me some cords to pass on to the band members the tune was mr walker. i was in shock because i was never a pan player.Three weeks after I was presented with a uniform to play on teen dance party on TV with the band. my mother almost fainted when she saw me on TV playing pan-i got a curtarse.Zambie was responsible for me joining the ban. The band broke up because of winfred atwell Ivory and Steel some members stayed in england following the tour.It is on believable that with the exception of about five members no one never played for another band in trinidad and all of us were very young and talented. It is known as the panam jumbie. The panam pan players were well respected by all the other steel bands players.Anthony Williams taught us to appreciate classical music. We were the first steel band to play for a big band-George Bailey
