The Steel Grooving Band was created in Mauritius Island in 2002 by British Outfit – MAN-GROOVE Steel Band’. This band had high hopes for the steel grooving band’ and were kind enough to pass on their instruments and leave them in the Steel Grooving Bands capable hands! The Band consists of 3 Steel Pan players, Drums, Bass guitar, Trumpet ,saxophone ,keyboard and male singer. The band includes members – Hensley (Band leader) + Kersley Saramandif (Brothers) Who trained at the renowned - ‘Mozart School of Music’ from the tender age of 10 yrs. Upon graduating from this school the two brothers decided to Create the ‘Steel grooving Band’. The band then began appearing at prestigious hotels on the island including – Hilton Hotel, Maritim, Sugar beach, one &only Sands resort and many more….. From here, The band continued to appear at only 5 * star hotels and gained huge respect & recognition on the island!! The band have enjoyed continued Success since and have have represented Mauritius in many high profile music festivals in countries as far as Dubai, Bulgaria, Scotland, Britain,Ireland… The band have just returned from Alnwick, England where they wowed audiences from all across the globe at the 'Alnwick international music festival'! Style of music : Instrumental & vocal : we play a variety of salsa, samba, jazz, reggae, pop, rock, funk, blues, disco and soul music from current chart hits.
