pannist,arranger.played in london panscene since the early 1970s.arranged for groovers steel orch 1978 to 1989.played with many other bands in london for panorama(mangrove'glissando'nostalgia^among others)since 1990 in switzerland teaching steelbands and playing with small professional steelbands.i was born in kenya 'my father migrated there from india.my mother was born in kenya (also indian).our family moved to london in 1970.i came into contact with pan in 1974 at the school i was attending(christopher wren)in shepherds bush in west london.there were 3 teachers who taught pan at this school(mr.russ henderson'mr.sterling bettancourt'mr.gary chang.)here began my journey into music.along the way i have been lucky to have played music with many greats of the pan world(russ henderson 'sterling bettencourt'rudy twoleft smith'pedro burgess'boogsie sharpe'eamon thorpe'miguel barradas' gary chang'ralph richardson 'and many others ,i was lucky to have great teachers likr gary chang(my first pan teacher at school)desmond bowen(sukuya steelband'1976.ralph richardson also (sukuya steelband.)pedro burgess (glissando steelorch.)sterling bettencourt and russ henderson.iplayed with many different pan formations over the last 30 years-i have been very lucky to seen a lot of this world because of pan.the journey continues!
